Our Risen Collection: The Story Behind the Designs

Every design in our Risen Collection tells a story of faith, hope, and resurrection. We didn't just create artwork — we poured meaning, symbolism, and prayer into each piece. Today, we're pulling back the curtain to share the inspiration and intention behind three of our most beloved designs.

Golden Sun: The Light That Never Fades

The Golden Sun design was born from a simple but powerful truth: even on the darkest days, God's light never goes out. Inspired by Malachi 4:2 — "But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings" — this design captures the warmth and radiance of divine love.

The golden tones were chosen deliberately. Gold represents divinity, glory, and the eternal nature of God in Christian art tradition. When you wear the Golden Sun, you carry a reminder that no matter what shadows you walk through, the light of Christ is always rising.

We spent weeks refining the balance between boldness and elegance. The result is a design that works equally well on a t-shirt at the weekend market or a hoodie at a youth group retreat.

Phoenix: Rising From the Ashes

The Phoenix design is perhaps our most striking piece. The mythical bird that rises from its own ashes has been a symbol of resurrection since the earliest days of Christianity. Early Church Fathers, including Clement of Rome, used the phoenix as an illustration of Christ's resurrection and the promise of eternal life.

Our interpretation blends traditional symbolism with contemporary artistry. The upward sweep of the wings represents ascension and triumph, whilst the warm colour palette — deep reds, burning oranges, and bright golds — evokes the transformative fire of the Holy Spirit.

This design resonates deeply with people who have walked through their own "ashes" — seasons of loss, struggle, or doubt — and emerged with their faith renewed. It's a visual testimony that God brings beauty from brokenness.

Rose from the Cross: Beauty in Sacrifice

The Rose from the Cross is our most contemplative design. It draws on a rich tradition in Christian mysticism where the rose growing from the cross represents the beauty that emerges from Christ's sacrifice. The rose symbolises love, the cross symbolises sacrifice, and together they tell the complete story of the Gospel.

Visually, we wanted the design to feel both delicate and powerful. The rose is rendered with soft, lifelike detail, whilst the cross provides strong, grounding lines. It's a reminder that the most beautiful things in life often grow from the most difficult places.

This has become one of our most popular designs for gifts, particularly for those going through challenging seasons. It speaks hope without words.
